Celebrating 30 years of flying high in the aviation sector

Heathrow - West Intake Substation

Contracted since 1993, we have kept three major airports running smoothly 24/7, 365 days a year. For the past 30 years we have owned, operated and maintained critical infrastructure for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.

Across the three sites, the portfolio of assets that we manage includes more than 500 substations, around 600 electrical transformers and a vast amount of high and low voltage cabling and expert engineers based at each airport.

Philip Heathcote, head of markets, said:

This anniversary is hugely momentous to us. What we do is unseen by the passenger. People only notice what we do if it stops working and we fix it.

As well as assisting airports in electrifying transport and equipment, we have proven our expertise in reducing carbon emissions, mitigating the environmental impacts of an increase in air travel post COVID 19 lockdown. Already aiding Heathrow in achieving the Carbon Trust Level 3 award, further net zero projects are in delivery, and we continue to work in the communities around each airport location to engage residents and work with schools providing the best service for all.

It means a lot to us that we have served the airport industry for this significant period. I am proud to see some of the major works that have been undertaken in this period. The partnership with our airport clients has allowed us to jointly develop and manage a world class range of aviation support services.
