International Women in Engineering Day 2022: meet Lucy, Kim, and Heather
This International Women in Engineering Day, meet Lucy, Kim and Heather, three inspiring women who deliver outstanding engineering solutions on critical national infrastructure and encourage future generations of female engineers to join the industry.
Kim Kelly is a Project Manager for our HV rail division in the south and has been working with the company for the last 14 years. She said of her role: "What I love most about working for the company is the challenges. Every day is different. Trying to succeed in delivering those challenges is what gets me up in the morning."
Lucy Palmer is a Project Manager in our Chatham Depot. "What's really great about my role is that you feel that your contributing to society: making a difference to country as a whole and learning something new every day."
Dr Heather Smeaton-Lowen manages our High Voltage Engineering Maintenance team, and has more than 30 years' experience in the industry. "I've seen the changes and that's what keeps it fresh and new. I love coming to work: it's rewarding to get to see youngsters come through who develop and grow in their careers."
